COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard founded in 1970. It is a member of COSCO SHIPYARD GROUP CO., LTD., and also the base for new building and ship repairing in southern China.
In 2014, the shipyard ranked in the first batch of “shipping industry standard companies” of China Industry and Information Bureau.
In 2012, COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard insisted the development strategy of “optimizing ship repair and new building and strengthening offshore projects”, and carried out “second transformation” based on two production bases “Guang Zhou ship repairing” and “Dong Guan new building”. Then the shipyard jointed successfully in offshore projects construction field which formed a business structure of ship repairing, new building and offshore projects.
Recently, COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard could able to repair 170 vessels and deliver 12-15 projects in new building and offshore construction annually. The new building products includes bulk carrier, life stock vessel, tender barge, platform supply vessel, semi-tender rig and other types of vessels. Life stock vessels are new projects meeting with the new technical requirement of AMSA, MO 43 and ISSUE 6, which received good reputation from overseas owners and could been constructed in series and large-scale.
