COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard is one of the core subsidiary enterprises of COSCO Shipyard Group. Its main business is ship and offshore repairing, conversion and new building.
The shipyard has a total land area of 1,200,000 m2 and over 3200 m of deepwater berth with 3 docks, 8 jetties for ship repairing, 2 gantry cranes (200 tons), 1 gantry crane (400 tons) and various facilities. Involved into new building area in 2007, the shipyard equipmented with steel processing, block assembling, pipe processing, painting workshops, 2 slipways with capacity of 5,000 tons and 10,000 tons, also with the ability of steel pretreatment upon 200,000 tons per year.
During recent years, COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard has made a transition from ship repairing into ship and offshore repairing, conversion and new building. The shipyard has repaired or converted OBO, PCTC, VLCC, VLOC, FPSO etc. Especially in FPSO conversion, the shipyard has successfully delivered 10 FPSO conversions which laid a leading position in China and also has a strong international competitiveness. Meanwhile, the shipyard has taken various projects such as: the biggest drillship around world, Jack-up drilling platform, small LNG carrier, 30,000 DWT training vessel, PSV, DSV, salvage vessel, module carrier, 22,000 DWT product oil tanker, 30,000 DWT heavy lifting vessel, 50,000 -100,000 DWT bulk carriers and the biggest floating dock with capacity of 500,000 tons.
